Calcium Carbonate in Adhesives and Sealants<\/h1>\n

Adhesives and sealants have completely changed their appearance in the last 30 years. Commercial sealer and general adhesives have become very common in almost all branches of industry. It is not obligatory to use fillers in all of these putties and adhesives. Especially as the technical requirements have become much more stringent, filling rates have started to show a downward trend. But fillers are indispensable when a balanced ratio between price and performance is required. The use of 50% or more filler is not uncommon. There is not only calcium carbonate in the fillings, kaolin and quartz powder are also used. Adhesives used in floor parquet mainly contain calcium sulfate.<\/p>\n

The use of calcium carbonate mainly increases the processing properties such as shelf life, slump resistance, durability, and strength. It can also be used to adjust the rheology of fillers, pastes and to minimize post-application stretching. Thus, cracks are prevented. Other benefits that can be obtained with the use of filler; adhesion, compressive strength, electrical conductivity, heat resistance, and finally water absorption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
